Types of Carpets

Loop pile

A robust style that is perfect for high-traffic areas. The loops here is at the same height which creates a informal look to the carpet. Perfect for commercial environments.

Cut pile

The most popular choice of carpets today is the cut pile style. Extremely durable which is achieved by the use of fiber, amount of twist in the yarn used and the density of the tufts. The greater the twist of the yarns the longer the shape will hold.

Cut loop pile

The cut-loop pile style is used to create different surface textures and is used to sculpture different effects of which is swirls, chevrons and some squares. This style is more a stylish finish and the effects are achieved by used the combination of higher and lower loops.

Sisal

This is a form of a loop style with different heights to produce variations of styles and textures. The standard sisal carpet is crafted in straight lines, one line of loops is higher than the next line.

Frieze

This style of carpet is a less formal carpet. It used long piles that are faced into different directions that give it a shaggy look but it has a very luxurious feel and is quite stylish. This carpet is extremely durable, perfect for the rooms for a more comfortable feel.

Woven

Typically these carpets are crafted using a loom. The process is a relatively slow process which is costly thus making them one of the more expensive carpets. They come is styles of a cut pile or a loop pile which is referred to as Berber. There are currently new styles that have come into this type of carpet which consists of combining the cut and loop style which is commonly know as the 'cut and loop' style.

 

Needle felt

These are a special kind of carpet designed for heavy duty and is commonly used in restaurants and hotels. This heavy duty carpet design is achieved by using a more technologically advanced process where the felts are made by felting and intermingling the fibers forked and barbed needles.
